Nanny Requirements
That's My Nanny refers only the best caregivers
to local families. We look for previous professional child care experiences
such as: nanny, day care center teacher, family day care provider in your own home,
teacher, nurse, or any other position that required you to oversee the well-being of
children. Since we do require previous professional child care experience,
you must be at least 20 years old to apply.
A minimum of 3 child care
references are required, and they are all checked thoroughly.
References can be previous employers or supervisors in a position where you
were responsible for the care of children, and parents of those children.
Education is a plus as well. A high school education is a must, and many families
are interested in nannies with degrees in child psychology, child development, child care,
education, etc.
A safe, reliable vehicle with a backseat is required in
most cases, and a valid driver's license is a must.
All applicants must
be willing to have background checks completed by That's My Nanny. This
includes criminal and child abuse, driving record, credit
history and social security number verification.
Infant and child CPR and First Aid are required by most families. This is
the only cost that a nanny must incur. You may wait until
a firm offer is made by a family before fulfilling this requirement.
The cost ranges from $40 to $65, depending on whether you have health insurance coverage.
We offer CPR/First Aid at our East Avenue office presented by an
American Heart Association certified EMT. The class is open to
nannies and families - call for the next available time.
