Your children are the
most important thing in your life, but you need to work as well.
What are your child care options? You can leave your child in
a day care center, in a family day care or you can hire a nanny.
Hiring a nanny provides your children with consistency, someone you
can count on day after day for an extended period of time. If
care is taken in the selection of a nanny, you will receive the highest
quality care that can only be provided through one on one interaction
with your children. The familiar environment of your own home
is comforting to children and results in a reduction in separation anxiety.
For the parents, getting out of the house in the morning is so much
easier when you don't have to get the kids up and out of the house too.
Children with nannies are also sick less often with less exposure to
other sick children. All of this results in a reduction in parental
stress, fewer lost days at work, and most importantly, peace of mind.
Some people think nannies are expensive… they are not. On average
nannies will charge $10.00 - $12.00 per hour (the nannies rate of pay
is based on expereince and responsibilities that the families are looking
for them to do in the home, so this rate may be higher depending on
what you are looking for). For families with two or more children, this
is comparable to the cost of day care.
Families who hire nannies will tell you that there is no other option
in child care. Find out for yourself!
